Volunteers Grow Vegetables At Senior Nutrition Garden

Senior-Nutrition-Garden - Agromin

There is nothing like the taste of freshly grown vegetables. The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) operates a Senior Nutrition Garden in Oxnard. It is run entirely by volunteers. The garden supplies Ventura County seniors with fresh, organic vegetables at no charge. Companies throughout the county have donated supplies to the garden to ensure its success. Agromin recently delivered 15 yards of its Compost 100 amendment that was then mixed with the garden soil to improve crop yield. With the help of the VCAAA, volunteers and donors, the garden is enabling many of our county’s seniors to enjoy a more healthy (and great tasting!) diet.
