Kellogg Park, located in Ventura’s Westside, officially opened April 14 after eight years of planning and fundraising. The 2.5-acre park is a naturally landscaped green space with two playgrounds, walking path, fitness equipment and native plantings. It has picnic areas, benches and an amphitheater. The park was previously a vacant lot.Kellogg Park is also the home of Ventura’s newest community garden. Plots are available for rent for $5 per month or $30 for six months. Each plot is a 3′ by 6′ raised planter bed. For information about reserving a plot, call the City of Ventura Parks, Recreation & Community Partnerships Department at 805-658-4754. Agromin was happy to donate 30 yards of our Premium Blend soil amendment to help gardeners get started.
